Barbershop Harmony Australia Western Region Showcase
Sat, 14 May 2016
The Baden Street Singers took to the stage at the 2016 Barbershop Harmony Australia Western Region Competition in order to qualify for the National Mixed Harmony competition in Newcastle later this year. We are very proud to say that we have qualified and are now back to focusing on our repertoire for the Denmark Festival of Voice.
The Baden Street Singers appeared as guests of Vocal Evolution in the men's chorus' highly successful show How to Succeed in Love Without Really Trying, where one of our members featured as the main character of the production. It was our privilege to sing alongside the Australian national men's chorus medalists, as well the Australian national men's quartet champions Lock Out and the Australian national women's chorus champions Perth Harmony Chorus in this 90 minute extravaganza.
In The Baden Street Singers' first public performance, we took to the stage to compete for the title of Young Singers in Harmony Australian National Youth Chorus Champions. Being the first and only mixed gender chorus to compete for this title we were happily surprised to make our way through strong competition and crtiticism to come out on top.
